Forgotten

This track came about very fast and organically over the course of a writing session. I’d just gotten a new Elektron Heat and was messing about with it. The whole track is just based on ever-changing distortion settings out of that unit. Simple, groovy, heady. Also shout out Matt Mercer for the drop sample, via Critical Role C2.

Forgotten is exactly what it says on the tin. A straight up, no frills 140 dubstep cut built on a thudding deep kick and a hip hop influenced drum pattern that locks you in from the first bar. The real story is in the bassline, which slowly evolves across the arrangement, giving the track a sense of creeping progression that rewards a close listen. Simple, heavy and effective.
