Killah
By Konka x Strange Thing
This tune was, is, and will forever be an absolute smasher weapon. It might be my favourite track me and Strange Thing have written together. It’s just so stanky and huge, and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. It was also very cool to have it featured on a collaboration compilation with so many amazing artists. Big tune. Big release. Gun fingas.
“Killah” from Konka and Strange Thing opens with wailing brass and synth textures that coil and build as the melody pushes forward, tension mounting bar by bar until the track hits all at once. Huge basses, fat halftime beats, vocal hip hop cuts and cracking drum break fills land together like a freight train. Then the 808 takes a walk, locking into a funky groove that gives the track its swagger and keeps the energy moving long after the initial impact. This one hits, and it hits hard.
